MODELS !!!!

This is me trying to wind up the wire with a drill, it saves a lot of time but needs to be done slow as to not break the wire.

I did incur quite a few scratchs too my hands with broken bits of wire :(
Here i was trying to get the 2 pieces of wire to stick by crushing them in the vise.
I placed my clay in front of the heater to get it soft so i could take slices from it (it was rock hard to begin with)
I made 2 thickness's of frames as to test what would hold up the best when it came to baring the stress of the clay.
This man was made using the thin wire frame. I am glad that I made two frames because I have learned that while the thick frame can hold up more clay and can stand on its own, it is too hard to animate with because it is stiff. On the other hand the thin clay is much easier to animate but is almost impossible to have stand on its own in the two legged models. I have had to come up with some new character designs. My Fiance has helped me out with some sketches.

Set Set-up >.<

I got my hands on the Animation clay that I was after ($142) :(
I was told it is very easy to manipulate when it is exposed to heat and can even be melted into a mold. I tried to find some wire around the house to use for the frames of the models, but I found that it was to stiff to bend, so I have scraped that idea.
This wire seems to be ok for what I need. It was $2.20 for three bindings.

I have now set up the lights and cameras and was testing out different camera angles. I have placed Styrofoam at the back of them as a wall and will soon paint something similar to the colour below, it will act as a green screen.

Shopping!

I went shopping at Ikea to get some props that I can use in my movie ! I picked up some Killing utensils (and found a Giant masher thing that would look kool in movie)

I want to get more ideas and supply's at the "craft fair" which is being held this week end at the Melbourne exhibition center.

I also found a clay supplier that is based in Richmond.

I will be visiting both this weekend and will post my findings! ^_^

Until then I will keep working on my character designs .

Emptying the set

This entire day has been spent cleaning out the spare room at my mums house in Woori Yallock.
My brother Ryan helped me take out the queen bed and set of dinning table chairs.

There was crap every where to begin with but it is now looking much more open and clean to work in. I plan to cover the windows with black bags to block out all light. I will now start to work on the actual models.
